Weldies are whimsical animals cut from mild steel and welded. They have cutouts that have glass pieces that are fused with copper wire designs between the layers of glass. All of the glass edges have been rounded in the kiln. They are hung to fit the cutouts and act as wind chimes. The glass pieces hang on hooks that have been welded to the back of the sculpture. The steel is coated with marine spar varnish to help prevent rusting. They can be displayed outdoors or indoors.
